Thưa các ông bà nghị sĩ Quốc hội, các thành viên nội các và đồng bào Mỹ của tôi, Đệ nhất Phu nhân và tôi vui mừng được chào đón các bạn tới buổi lễ Chào nước Mỹ lần thứ 2.
Trong ngày đặc biệt này, chúng ta tưởng nhớ lịch sử, các anh hùng và di sản, lá cờ vĩ đại và nền tự do của chúng ta. Chúc mừng ngày 4/7.
Tôi muốn cảm ơn Đội Hiệp sĩ Vàng Kim của Không quân Mỹ vì màn trình diễn thực sự kinh ngạc và tuyệt vời của các bạn, thật là tài năng. Hiệp sĩ Vàng Kim và tất cả những thành viên của lực lượng vũ trang ở đây tối nay, tôi muốn nói rằng các bạn đã có được sự hàm ơn vĩnh viễn của toàn bộ quốc gia. 244 năm trước tại Philadelphia, 56 người ký vào bản Tuyên Ngôn Độc Lập, cam kết sinh mạng, tài sản và danh dự thiêng liêng của họ để tuyên bố một cách dũng cảm về một sự thật vĩnh hằng, rằng tất cả chúng ta đều được tạo ra một cách công bình bởi Chúa. Nhờ có sự dũng cảm của những người yêu nước đó vào ngày 4/7/1776, nền cộng hòa Hoa Kỳ đứng vững ngày hôm nay là một quốc gia vĩ đại nhất, xuất sắc nhất và đạo đức nhất trong lịch sử thế giới. Các nhà máy, công nhân của chúng ta đã cách mạng hóa ngành công nghiệp và giúp hàng triệu người thịnh vượng. Những nghệ sĩ, kỹ sư và kiến trúc sư của ta đã truyền cảm hứng cho cả thế giới với những tác phẩm mỹ thuật vượt mọi ranh giới.
Các anh hùng Mỹ đánh bại Nazi, soán ngôi đổ Phát xít, làm sụp đổ hệ thống Cộng sản, cứu vớt các giá trị Mỹ, giữ vững các nguyên tắc Mỹ và đuổi cổ bọn khủng bố tới nơi tận cùng trái đất. Nay chúng ta đang trong giai đoạn đánh bại phe cực tả, những kẻ Marxist, bọn vô chính phủ, những kẻ bạo loạn, cướp bóc. Và nhiều người trong nhiều trường hợp chẳng biết họ đang làm gì.
Những nhà phát minh của ta, khoa học gia, bác sĩ, nhà nghiên cứu, đã cải thiện cuộc sống của hàng tỷ người trên toàn thế giới. Những phi hành gia gan dạ của ta đã cắm quốc kỳ Mỹ trên mặt trăng và nước Mỹ sẽ là quốc gia đầu tiên đặt chân lên Sao Hỏa. Tất cả người Mỹ đang sống hôm nay là hậu duệ của nền di sản hùng vĩ này. Chúng ta là con cháu của thế hệ những người dũng cảm nhất và quả cảm nhất từng bước chân trên mặt đất. Chúng ta kế thừa sự tự tin dữ dội của họ, niềm đam mê không gì lay chuyển được, tham vọng không kiềm chế của họ và sự lạc quan không giới hạn của họ. Đây chính là tinh thần cuồng mãnh đã xây dựng lên đất nước vinh quang này và tinh thần này cháy sáng mãi trong linh hồn của mỗi người Mỹ yêu nước.
Đó là lý do vì sao chúng ta tưởng nhớ nhiều thế hệ anh hùng người Mỹ, những người mà tên họ được khắc trên các tượng đài, đài tưởng niệm và trong những trang sử, và trong trái tim của những con người mãi mãi hàm ơn. Chúng ta sẽ không bao giờ cho phép một nhóm côn đồ giận dữ giật đổ các bức tượng và xóa sạch lịch sử của ta, nhồi sọ con cháu ta và giẫm nát nền tự do của ta. Chúng ta sẽ canh gác các giá trị quý báu, truyền thống, phong tục và tín ngưỡng của ta. Chúng ta sẽ dạy con cháu mình tôn trọng và yêu thương đất nước này, để chúng có thể xây dựng tương lai. Cùng với nhau, chúng ta sẽ chiến đấu vì giấc mơ Mỹ và chúng ta sẽ bảo vệ, giữ gìn và bảo tồn lối sống Mỹ vốn bắt đầu từ năm 1492, khi Columbus tìm ra nước Mỹ.
Việc làm và công ty đang trở lại Hoa Kỳ như chưa từng thấy trước đây. Sức mạnh của thuế áp đặt lên các vùng đất nước ngoài mà từng lợi dụng nước ta trong hàng thập kỷ qua đã giúp chúng ta có thể tạo ra các thỏa thuận thương mại tuyệt vời mà trong quá khứ chưa từng có.
Hàng chục tỷ đô la đang chảy về kho bạc Hoa Kỳ từ chính những quốc gia đó. Nhưng ngay sau đó, chúng ta lại bị tấn công bởi một loại virus đến từ Trung Quốc. Chúng ta đã đạt nhiều tiến triển, chiến lược của ta đã hoạt động tốt đẹp; nó bị dập tắt ở đầu này nhưng lại thò cái mặt xấu xí của nó ra đầu khác. Nhưng chúng ta đã học được nhiều điều, chúng ta đã học được cách dập lửa như thế nào. Chúng ta đã sản xuất máy thở, bắt đầu từ con số 0 vọt lên hàng chục nghìn, tới mức mà có quá thừa mức ta cần và nay đang phân phối nó tới nhiều nước khác như một cử chỉ thiện chí. Xét nghiệm cũng như vậy. Không có bộ xét nghiệm cho virus mới, nhưng nay chúng ta đã xét nghiệm cho gần 40 triệu người. Trong khi làm điều này, chúng ta thấy kết quả là 99% ca xét nghiệm là hoàn toàn vô hại, một kết quả mà không nước nào có thể thể hiện được bởi không có nơi nào làm được xét nghiệm với quy mô mà chúng ta đã làm. Kể cả chất lượng và số lượng.
Và nay, giống như mọi điều khác, chúng ta đang trở thành nhà sản xuất kỷ lục các máy thở, chúng ta có nhiều xét nghiệm nhất, với chất lượng tốt nhất thế giới. Và chúng ta đang tự sản xuất quần áo y tế và khẩu trang, thiết bị phẫu thuật từ trong nước. Trước đây, những thiết bị này gần như là toàn bộ được làm từ nước ngoài, đặc biệt là từ Trung Quốc, nơi, mỉa mai thay lại chính là nơi con virus này và các thứ khác bắt nguồn từ.
Việc Trung Quốc giữ bí mật, lừa dối và che đậy đã cho phép virus truyền ra khắp thế giới, 180 quốc gia trên thế giới. Và Trung Quốc phải bị bắt chịu trách nhiệm toàn bộ. Về giải pháp trị bệnh, chúng ta đang thực hiện vô cùng tốt. Ta đang ở giai đoạn thử nghiệm sâu về Vaccine và các loại thuốc điều trị khác. Tôi muốn gửi lời cảm ơn tới các nhà khoa học, nhà nghiên cứu trên cả nước và thậm chí cả thế giới, những người đang ở trên tiền tuyến của nỗ lực lịch sử để nhanh chóng phát triển các phương pháp trị bệnh cứu người và cuối cùng là một loại vaccine.
Chúng ta đang giải phóng tài năng khoa học quốc gia, và nhiều khả năng sẽ có thuốc điều trị và giải pháp vaccine trước cuối năm.
Chúng tôi rất biết ơn khi có mặt ở đây tối nay là những người Mỹ đã chiến đấu ở tuyến đầu trong cuộc chiến chống virus, tôi chỉ muốn nói rằng nước Mỹ cảm ơn các bạn. Xin các bạn hãy đứng lên.
Các hành động của chúng tôi đều nhằm đưa mỗi cá nhân đạt tới tiềm năng toàn bộ mà Chúa đã ban cho họ. Đừng bao giờ quên chúng ta là một gia đình, một quốc gia mà di sản phong phú của nó thuộc về tất cả công dân, từ già đến trẻ. Từ thế hệ người Mỹ thứ nhất đến thế hệ thứ 10, không quan trọng, chúng ta là người Mỹ.
Di sản này thuộc về công dân Mỹ thuộc mọi hoàn cảnh, mọi ngóc ngách cuộc sống, bất kể sắc tộc, màu da, tôn giáo và dòng dõi, chúng ta là một nước Mỹ. Và chúng ta đặt nước Mỹ trên hết.
Chúng ta sẽ không cho phép bất kỳ ai chia rẽ dân tộc bằng sắc tộc hay bối cảnh, chúng ta sẽ không cho phép chúng kích động thù hận, bất hòa, và bất tín. Chúng ta sẽ tiếp tục tin tưởng và sống đúng nghĩa với lòng trung thành linh thiêng vốn kết nối tất cả chúng ta thành láng giềng, thành người Mỹ và những người yêu nước. Ở mỗi thời đại, luôn luôn có những kẻ tìm cách nói dối về lịch sử nhằm đạt được quyền lực trong hiện tại. Những kẻ đang nói dối về lịch sử của chúng ta, những kẻ muốn chúng ta phải nhục nhã về việc chúng ta là ai không quan tâm đến công lý hay hàn gắn. Mục đích của chúng là phá hủy. Mục đích của chúng ta là không phá hủy kết cấu vĩ đại nhất trái đất, điều mà chúng ta đã xây dựng, Hiệp Chúng quốc Hoa Kỳ, mà là xây dựng một tương lai mà mọi gia đình đều cảm thấy an toàn, mỗi đứa trẻ được vây quanh bởi tình yêu, nơi mọi cộng đồng đều có cơ hội ngang bằng, và mỗi công dân đều được hưởng sự tôn trọng tốt đẹp, lâu dài.
Quá khứ của ta không phải là một gánh nặng để quẳng đi. Nó cũng không phải là một nền tảng thần kỳ mà sẽ đưa chúng ta đến đỉnh cao văn minh nhân loại tiếp theo. Nhưng chúng liên kết với nhau bằng thời gian, bằng niềm tin và mối liên hệ vĩnh hằng của tình yêu nước.
Những kẻ muốn cắt bỏ các mối liên kết này sẽ cắt khỏi chúng ta phần trí tuệ, dũng cảm, tình yêu và sự cống hiến mà cho chúng ta tất cả những gì chúng ta có ngày hôm nay, và tất cả những gì chúng ta cố gắng để có ngày mai. Chúng ta không thể để chuyện đó xảy ra. Chúng ta sẽ không vứt bỏ những anh hùng, chúng ta sẽ tôn vinh họ, chúng ta sẽ chứng minh sự hy sinh của họ có giá trị.
Tôi cũng muốn nói vài lời với những người thuộc giới truyền thông, những người, một cách sai trái liên tục, dán nhãn cho đối thủ của họ là những kẻ phân biệt chủng tộc, lên án các công dân yêu nước vì hành động bảo vệ sự đoàn kết quốc gia rõ ràng và dõng dạc. Chúng ta muốn có công việc tốt, và chúng ta muốn được cả thế giới tôn trọng chứ không phải là lợi dụng như điều mà đã xảy ra trong hàng thập kỷ qua. Tất cả chúng ta nên muốn cùng một thứ. Làm sao mà ta lại không muốn những điều trên được?
Các vị càng cay đắng, chúng tôi càng thu hút tình yêu và những người ái quốc. Chúng tôi sẽ vượt lên trên sự thù hằn của các vị để xây dựng một tương lai tốt đẹp hơn cho mỗi đứa trẻ trong đất nước vĩ đại này, để tôn vinh di sản oai nghiêm của Hoa Kỳ. Tôi đã ký một sắc lệnh hành pháp để xây dựng một đài tưởng niệm cho lực lượng vệ binh và các anh hùng Mỹ – một vườn quốc gia bao gồm các bức tượng của những người Mỹ. Chúng ta sẽ tôn vinh những công dân vĩ đại từ tất cả cộng đồng và từ mọi phần tổ quốc, những người đàn ông và phụ nữ tuyệt vời, những người mà chúng ta có thể kính ngưỡng mãi mãi. Đó là lý do vì sao nước ta lại hùng mạnh, bất chấp những điều tồi tệ vẫn xảy ra hết thế hệ này đến thế hệ khác…
Cuối cùng, tối nay chúng ta sẽ tôn vinh sự vĩ đại và lòng trung thành, dũng cảm của những người đàn ông và phụ nữ đã bảo vệ nền độc lập của chúng ta trong suốt 244 năm, chúng ta tôn vinh những nam, nữ quân nhân vĩ đại trong quân đội Hoa Kỳ. Trong lịch sử thế giới chưa từng có quốc gia nào sử dụng nhiều sức mạnh đến vậy để thúc đẩy cái thiện. Chiến trường khắp thế giới in đầy những bia mộ của những người ái quốc trẻ của ta, những thanh niên dùng giây phút cuối cùng để bảo vệ tự do và hòa bình trên khắp thế giới và tại đây, quê nhà. Các anh hùng đã chiến đấu và hy sinh để chúng ta được sống trong tự do, họ quả là những con người tuyệt vời, những anh hùng tuyệt vời, sẽ sống mãi trong nhiều thế hệ chúng ta. Trong tương lai, nước ta thậm chí còn hùng mạnh hơn nữa.
Trong vài phút tới, chúng ta sẽ được chứng kiến những màn trình diễn máy bay tuyệt đẹp, đại diện cho mỗi cuộc xung đột quân sự lớn trong vòng 75 năm qua. Những chiếc máy bay này từng cất cánh từ những tàu sân bay khổng lồ, lao vào những cuộc chiến khốc liệt nhất trong Thế Chiến II, chúng lao vút qua bầu trời khói đạn của Triều Tiên, chúng mang theo các chiến binh Hoa Kỳ tới chiến trường Việt Nam, và mang lại chiến thắng vinh quang trong chiến dịch Bão Cát chóng vánh. Rất nhiều người trong các bạn từng có mặt trong cuộc chiến đó.
Các chiến cơ của ta đã thực hiện các sứ mệnh nguy hiểm khắp thế giới, tiêu diệt kẻ thù và mang binh sĩ của ta an toàn trở về nhà. Như các bạn đã biết, năm ngoái chúng ta đã tiêu diệt được 2 trùm khủng bố khét tiếng thế giới, Al Baghdadi và Soleimani. Chúng ta đã làm việc để khôi phục lực lượng vũ trang Hoa Kỳ. Ta đã đầu tư 2,5 nghìn tỷ USD khí tài trang bị, tất cả đều được sản xuất tại Mỹ. Trước kia ta chưa từng có mức độ trang bị và sức mạnh nào gần được với hiện nay. Bất cứ nơi đâu những chiến cơ này bay tới, chúng đều thả xuống sấm sét và bảo vệ vững chắc từng tấc đất chủ quyền. Và trong những khung thép, cánh lướt và tiếng động cơ gầm thét, chúng ta nhìn thấy tinh thần Mỹ vút cao cùng quyết tâm không gì lay chuyển. Trong suốt lịch sử, chúng ta đã bị thử thách và thách thức, nhưng chúng ta luôn luôn chiến thắng, đã chiến đấu giành chiến thắng mỗi khi lối sống của Mỹ bị đe dọa.

Angry mobs are trying to tear down statues of our founders, deface our most sacred memorials, and unleash a wave of violent crime in our cities. Many of these people have no idea why they’re doing this, but some know what they are doing. They think the American people are weak and soft and submissive, but no, the American people are strong and proud and they will not allow our country and all of its values, history, and culture to be taken from them.

One of their political weapons is cancel culture, driving people from their jobs, shaming dissenters, and demanding total submission from anyone who disagrees. We will expose this dangerous movement, protect our nation’s children from this radical assault, and preserve our beloved American way of life. If you do not speak its language, perform its rituals, recite its mantras, and follow its commandments, then you will be censored, banished, blacklisted, persecuted, and punished. I am pleased to report that yesterday, federal agents arrested the suspected ringleader of the attack on the statue of the great Andrew Jackson in Washington, D.C., and in addition, hundreds more have been arrested. Under the executive order I signed last week pertaining to the Veterans Memorial Preservation Memorial and Recognition Act and other laws, people who damage or deface federal statues or monuments will get a minimum of 10 years in prison and obviously that includes our beautiful Mount Rushmore.

Our people have a great memory. They will never forget the destruction of statues and monuments to George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Ulysses S. Grant, abolitionists and many others. The violent mayhem we have seen in the streets and cities that are run by liberal Democrats in every case is the predictable result of years of extreme indoctrination and bias in education, journalism, and other cultural institutions. Against every law of society and nature, our children are taught in school to hate their own country and to believe that the men and women who built it were not heroes but that were villains. The radical view of American history is a web of lies, all perspective is removed, every virtue is obscured, every motive is twisted, every fact is distorted and every flaw is magnified until the history is purged and the record is disfigured beyond all recognition. This movement is openly attacking the legacies of every person on Mount Rushmore. They defiled the memory of Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln and Roosevelt. Today we will set history and history’s record straight.

Before these figures were immortalized in stone, they were American giants in full flesh and blood, gallant men, whose intrepid deeds unleashed the greatest leap of human advancement the world has ever known. Tonight I will tell you and most importantly the youth of our nation the true stories of these great, great men. From head to toe George Washington represented the strength, grace, and dignity of the American people. From a small volunteer force of citizen farmers, he created the Continental Army out of nothing and rallied them to stand against the most powerful military on earth. Through eight long years, through the brutal winter at Valley Forge, through setback after setback on the field of battle, he led those patriots to ultimate triumph. When the army had dwindled to a few thousand men at Christmas of 1776, when defeat seemed absolutely certain, he took what remained of his forces on a daring nighttime crossing of the Delaware River. They marched through nine miles of frigid darkness, many without boots on their feet, leaving a trail of blood in the snow. In the morning, they seized victory at Trenton after forcing the surrender of the most powerful empire on the planet at Yorktown, General Washington did not claim power but simply returned to Mount Vernon as a private citizen.

When called upon again, he presided over the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia and was unanimously elected our first president. When he stepped down after two terms, his former adversary, King George called him the greatest man of the age. He remains first in our hearts to this day, for as long as Americans love this land, we will honor and cherish the father of our country, George Washington. He will never be removed, abolished, and most of all, he will never be forgotten. Thomas Jefferson, the great Thomas Jefferson, was 33 years old when he traveled north to Pennsylvania and brilliantly authored one of the greatest treasures of human history, the Declaration of Independence. He also drafted Virginia’s constitution and conceived and wrote the Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom, a model for our cherished First Amendment. After serving as the first Secretary of State, and then Vice President, he was elected to the presidency. He ordered American warriors to crush Barbary pirates. He doubled the size of our nation with the Louisiana Purchase and he sent the famous explorers Lewis and Clark into the west on a daring expedition to the Pacific Ocean. He was an architect, an inventor, a diplomat, a scholar, the founder of one of the world’s great universities and an ardent defender of liberty. Americans will forever admire the author of American freedom, Thomas Jefferson, and he too will never, ever be abandoned by us.

Abraham Lincoln, the savior of our union, was a self-taught country lawyer who grew up in a log cabin on the American frontier. The first Republican president, he rose to high office from obscurity based on a force and clarity of his anti-slavery convictions. Very, very strong convictions. He signed the law that built the Trans-Continental Railroad. He signed the Homestead Act given to some incredible scholars as simply defined ordinary citizens free land to settle anywhere in the American West, and he led the country through the darkest hours of American history, giving every ounce of strength that he had to ensure that government of the people, by the people and for the people did not perish from this earth. He served as commander in chief of the U.S. Armed Forces during our bloodiest war, the struggle that saved our union and extinguished the evil of slavery. Over 600,000 died in that war, more than 20, 000 were killed or wounded in a single day in Antietam. At Gettysburg 157 years ago, the Union bravely withstood an assault of nearly 15,000 men and threw back Pickett’s Charge. Lincoln won the Civil War. He issued the Emancipation Proclamation. He led the passage of the 13th Amendment, abolishing slavery for all-time and ultimately his determination to preserve our nation and our union cost him his life. For as long as we live, Americans will uphold and revere the immortal memory of President Abraham Lincoln.

Theodore Roosevelt exemplified the unbridled confidence of our national culture and identity. He saw the towering grandeur of America’s mission in the world and he pursued it with overwhelming energy and zeal. As a Lieutenant Colonel during the Spanish-American War, he led the famous Rough Riders to defeat the enemy at San Juan Hill. He cleaned up corruption as police commissioner of New York City, then served as the Governor of New York, Vice President, and at 42 years old, became the youngest ever President of the United States.

He sent our great new naval fleet around the globe to announce America’s arrival as a world power. He gave us many of our national parks, including the Grand Canyon. He oversaw the construction of the awe-inspiring Panama Canal and he is the only person ever awarded both the Nobel Peace Prize and the Congressional Medal of Honor. He was American freedom personified in full. The American people will never relinquish the bold, beautiful and untamed spirit of Theodore Roosevelt.

No movement that seeks to dismantle these treasured American legacies can possibly have a love of America at its heart. Can’t happen. No person who remains quiet at the destruction of this resplendent heritage can possibly lead us to a better future. The radical ideology attacking our country advances under the banner of social justice, but in truth, it would demolish both justice and society. It would transform justice into an instrument of division and vengeance and it would turn our free and inclusive society into a place of a repression, domination, and exclusion. They want to silence us, but we will not be silenced.
