Giang Quốc Cơ - Giang Quốc Nghiệp phá kỷ lục Guinness (2016) về giữ thăng bằng trên đầu

Vào ngày 22/12/2016, hai anh em Giang Quốc Cơ và Giang Quốc Nghiệp phá kỷ lục Guinness về giữ thăng bằng trên đầu và đi lên hết 90 bậc thang Nhà thờ Chánh tòa tại Girona, Tây Ban Nha.

Sự kiện đã thu hút cả những vị chức sắc trong nhà thờ, quan chức tại địa phương và các nghệ sĩ xiếc quốc tế tới tham dự và chiêm ngưỡng. Trước đó, kỷ lục thế giới được giữ bởi hai nghệ sĩ xiếc người Trung Quốc là Tang Tao và Su Zengxian vào tháng 9/2014. Họ đã leo được 25 bậc thang trong vòng 1 phút với cùng kỹ thuật như vậy. 

Trang tin NBC News của Mỹ đã đưa khoảnh khắc nỗ lực xác lập kỷ lục của hai anh em Quốc Cơ - Quốc Nghiệp là một trong 10 khoảnh khắc đáng nhớ của thế giới trong ngày 22/12, còn tờ Straits Times của Singapore gọi đây là một "màn biểu diễn kỳ diệu". 

Vietnamese circus duo smash record for most stairs climbed with a person on the head

Two unfathomably-strong Vietnamese brothers have smashed the record for the Most consecutive stairs climbed while balancing a person on the head in Girona, Spain.

Circus duo Giang Quoc Nghiep and Giang Quoc Co conquered the 90 stairs of Saint Mary's Cathedral while balancing head-to-head.

In an extraordinary display of core strength and stability, one man walks up the steps while the other holds himself upside-down on top of his head.

You might recognise the picturesque setting from popular fantasy epic Game of Thrones, as these stairs are used for the exterior of the Sept of Baelor in King’s Landing.

It takes the siblings just 52 seconds to climb to the top and they make the impressive challenge look almost effortless.

The professional performers more than tripled the previous record of 25 stairs that was set by Tang Tao and Su Zengxian (China) on the set of CCTV-Guinness World Records Special back in 2014.

Mayor of Girona Marta Madrenas attended the event and congratulated the Giang brothers following their successful Guinness World Records attempt.

Speaking to Guinness World Records, Giang Quoc Nghiep said: "We have been rehearsing this skill for 15 years," explaining that the duo have experienced plenty of accidents and injuries during their grueling training regime.

"I have sometimes thought that I could not continue any longer, but we continue to go forward and overcome fear and danger," he added.

"I want to prove to everyone in the world that human possibilities are endless."
